Starting from the forest car park at the beginning of the hidden valley of Aiken Beck, the walking is easy on the access roads and beats the long slog up by the fence (joined later) of the direct route to Graystones from Scawgill Bridge. The heather terrace across Darling How is especially rewarding. The walking from Graystones to Broom Fell and Lord's Seat is fast and easy on grass with views of the Solway Firth and beyond. The route to Barf (and the return) is especially wet which is difficult to avoid but is worth it for this airy vantage point overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. After negotiating the forest section, the open fell to 'Whinlatter Top' is on vague trods again some of it rather wet. The return from Brown How in the direction of Darling How is always problematic but the trackless forest section used is through 'Scots Pines' rather than the more dense 'Sitka Spruce' variety and all over 'open access' ground, to reach the forest road again.

Great walk - had a variety of terrain - muddy/boggy in parts but otherwise good. Fantastic views and took in a number of peaks easy to navigate with this app.
