Walking

Very busy indeed! Limited on site parking is a nightmare costing 50p for 4 hours. (Took me 15 minutes to get a parking spot.) The walk itself is what you might expect in a location offering a cafe, water sports facility and restaurant (closed). The wife and I did two laps which didn't take long weaving in and out of slow elderly pedestrians, mothers with pushchairs, dogs on 8ft leads, large families, joggers, cyclists and large groups of walkers going in the opposite direction. My guess is that this would be an extremely crowded venue during the warmer summer months and is somewhere I'll probably not wish to visit again. Although this one is not for me, it might appeal to families with children and dogs given that there are large grass areas to knock a ball around or throw a stick. Unfortunately, the views of the lake itself are largely obscured with tall trees. On a positive note, it is very tidy with no litter.

Gorgeous walk around the lake. We did two leisurely laps.

The walk is a regular for me. On clear nights the sunsets are gorgeous and lots of other activities on the water available from the shop. It also has a coffee shop to enjoy a latte whilst you are on your walk. All level and good pathways - can get a little muddy after a rain storm.
