Getting There

The walk takes you behind some of the houses in the village, then on a circular route south of Mortimer with good views back to the village. It is mostly flat, with some gentle downhill and uphill short sections. There are footpaths, gravel tracks and small country roads. It is mostly dry, with occasional, short boggy sections near the stream. You will need to negotiate one stile and a footbridge. In terms of refreshments, there is a pub and small supermarket at the start of the walk, or a cafe a little further down the road.

Park in the small car park opposite village pub on The Street, Mortimer Common, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 3RD. It is generally a quiet village and you can park in this car park, along the street or at the nearby car park by St John's Church.

Lovely walk, started off thinking glad I didnt wear wellies BUT it did get quite muddy after the stream so be careful if it's been raining. The second half of the walk is along lanes BUT they are very quiet and we only came across 2 cars.
