Slåensø is normally considered part of the Silkeborg Islands, although it is only connected to Borre. The lake lies in a very hilly terrain and the lake reaches a depth of up to 12 meters. It is a favorite excursion destination with the King's chair (82 m high) just south of Slåensø, from where there is a nice view to the north over the lake and Borresø.
