In Pinddalen, the water is transported from Fåresø to the Gudenå. Pinddal is an elongated bog, where peat has been dug up until the 1950s. The moss is divided into many small plots, since all the houses and farms in the area had a peat shift for supply of fuel. Everywhere in the bog there are small marsh holes with steep slopes and stagnant water. Many of the peat trenches are currently growing up with willow and birch. At the top of Pinddalen lies Fåresø surrounded by heather-clad hills and nutrient-poor marsh holes. Cranberry with its red berries and the carnivorous plant sun canopy grows along the shores of the sheep lake. The name Fåresø originates from the time you washed the sheep in the lake before autumn clipping.
