This trail combines the two trails Hærvejen and Trækstien to make one large loop trail. The Ox Road, in Danish known as Hærvejen, is a trail that has sections which can be traced back more than 6000 years ago. Back then the trail was primarily used as a trade route. This is where the route gets its name from, oxen walked the route the most. Along the trail you'll still see parts of the old tracks, sheep pens and fords. The route is well marked as Hærvejen and you can either walk or cycle it. Every year the hiking event Hærvejsmarchen is organized along the trail. Trækstien is a centuries old trail which follows the old tow paths of the River Gudenå. It comes past a couple of natural gems of the province.
