Liseleje Forest was planted in the 19th century to combat drifting sand. Although the village used to be a fisherman's village, nowadays the area is full of summer houses and popular in the tourism sector. At the end of Liseleje Forest you'll also pass Melby Overdrev, an open area which was protected in 1930.
