This route starts directly at the German-Czech border in Hrenkso (Herrnskretschen), on the Chechen side of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. From a public car park you first walk into the gorge, where after a few hundred meters you reach the Edmundsklamm. Here expects the first boat trip, which costs about 3.50 €. Usually the gorge is only until 31.10. closed and out of season. After this first boat trip, this route continues along the Kamnitzbach, from where you soon come to the "Wilde Klamm", where another boat trip waits. If you follow the route, you will reach the small village of Mezni Louka (Rainwiese), which invites you to take a break. Then you reach the so-called Ziegenrücken, which then merges into the Gabrielsteig. From here follow the signs to the Prebischtor through the core zone of the National Park Saxon Switzerland. The gate itself has a span of 26.5 m and a height of 16 m, making it the largest sandstone rocky gate in Europe. For movie fans: Some well-known scenes, such as from the movie Chronicles of Narnia: The King of Narnia, were filmed on the grounds around the Prebischtor.

We went to the Prebischtor first - the other way round. That was good, because the ascent after the boat trip through the Edmund-Klamm is gigantic steep and long! Down it was much easier. The essential boat trip is very nice! It costs about 3.50 per person. Unfortunately, there were a lot of tourists, so a star is missing.
