Amazing trail- we got engaged on the beach at the end! The beach is stunning and well worth the hard trail! The elevation you really feel in the heat. Amazing wildlife spotting. Beware of big snakes. Very memorable, take lots of water. There is a place to rinse off by the beach which was great before hiking back.

Superbe rando, nature exceptionnelle et le sentier est bien dégagé. On l’a fait en novembre 28 degré et 90% d’humidité une bonne sportive

Go early and take lots of water - IMPORTANT NOTE - more than you think you’ll need! This is a long and hot hike but the abundance of wildlife we observed was worth every second. The first part has some decent tree cover but where the sun gets through it is blazing! Hike quietly and you may find yourself surrounded by a troop of capuchin monkeys as they made their way through the jungle, as we were. We were able to stand and observe them for quiet a long time and got some amazing photos. We also saw and heard howlers communicating with another group down the valley - it was amazing to hear their calls echo all around us. We also also saw many coatimundis, a deer, agouti, and spotted the rare great curassow in the underbrush as well as many colourful birds and butterflies. At the half way point you are rewarded with Playa Blanca - a rocky beach safe for a refreshing dip and a mid way lunch at the shaded picnic tables on the beach. Amazing hike! 10/10 would do it again!! There is a well at the trailhead with drinkable water, however 3 out of 4 of our group had some tummy trouble after drinking it - FYI.

I would call this a difficult hike if you are not an experienced hiker. The humidity is intense on the walk and having a backpack full of beach supplies made it tough. The beach at the end is gorgeous and was not crowded at all! Heads up for monkeys if you go in the water! Water is super rocky but you can float the waves in
