This is the easiest mountain to climb in all of Rarotonga (except for the rock cliff which requires climbing with hand and foot for about 10m of elevation). Above the cliff is the relatively flat mountain top with many small tracks criss-crossing. The view from the top is not spectacular but pleasant. Like all tracks on Rarotonga it is not well sign-posted.

Great views of the surrounding ridges in a lovely rain forest ambience. The track is quite rough in places and was slippery under foot (following light rain). It is pretty steep and there are some narrow traverses. Definitely worth the effort, even with a bit of coaxing.

No problem at all for accustumed hikers. It is kind of slippery on the way up but nothing hard. Fantastic view on the top which is reached after a easier rock climbing.

Great walk and views! Sign said 3 hours at snail's pace (assuming they meant return), we took about half that at a reasonable pace. Not too steep up until the short rock climb which required a bit of scrambling with the aide of ropes and foot/hand holds - remember it's easier going up than down, so if you're not that sure footed take care! Even if you stop before the climb there are some great views :-)

A good group trek up Raemaru. Great views and easy going uphill track. There is a bit of rock climbing involved before you get to the top, which isn't too hard. Went back a second time for a bit of mountain running!

Nice easy uphill track up to the rock wall. The rock wall isn't too hard, there are ropes and pegs to use to get up the 10 - 15m wall and there is a beautiful view from up top. There is a rough track up to Maungaroa, it's flagged but the track is pretty rough & tricky. I turned around at the second highest peak on the ridge line.
