Difficult to find after turnoff from two-wheel track. Use/follow  your GPS. Once on the ridge you can not miss the track. Sure-footedness required. Requires stamina. Avoid when wet.

small trail marker at start on right hand side of road. park just before it and walk up. take a machete! trail badly over grown.

Great hike! Trail is easy to find, just look for the sign off the gravel road, and is well defined and easy to follow. It is steep and slippery in places from lose dirt and pine needles etc. The top 1/3 requires some climbing, I'd call it 'technical scrambling'. Some ropes kindly installed in some difficult spots but some climbing up rock required. Definitely need to be sure-footed and ok with heights as you're on the sharp ridge for last 1/4 or so. Took 2.5 hours so quicker than Te Manga and Te Kou but I'd say it's slightly more difficult.
