This one accidentally has the lift coming down the mountain- the start and finish should be the same - the wall is from the stage 14 to 20. Going up to 20 is mainly up hill and coming back is mainly down hills. Between 19 and 20 is the most steep section. However breathtaking views looking back. Mostly recommend going in the after due to the angle of the sun.

This is a path a bit less traveled as far as the Great Wall goes. Went on the weekend and it wasn’t crowded at all. The wall is well restored, and have even added handrails in steep areas. Did this as a point to point trail hiking to the uppermost beacon tower and viewing platform. Took the magnetic rail car down since time was a factor. Would rate this moderate for steep inclines (and descents) and the very inconsistent step heights. From the bottom you can boat or walk back to the parking area. This is a fairly newly opened section and for now, lesser known. Views are nice with the lake.
