The Temple of Heaven, (literally the Altar of Heaven) is a variety of Taoist buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing. The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for a good harvest.

Very hot in July of 2009. No shade, rest facilities were traditional style (not western) so take your own TP. Very beautiful structures, lots of history, but I would venture it at a cooler time.
