Cerro Pochoco is a 3.8 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Lo Barnechea, Santiago, Chile that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and mountain biking.
My husband and I started this hike yesterday, but got a late start right before high noon so we didn’t finish it. Highly recommend either going early in the morning or late afternoon-evening during the summer. Wear a hat and prepare to get your butt kicked, the rating is accurate. We also had running shoes which made the descent pretty difficult. Would be much easier with boots. Incredible views of Santiago! We plan on going back so we can finish the trail and take in more sights. It is indeed lightly trafficked and not crowded at all, it was quite lovely.
