Cerro Pochoco is a 3.8 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Lo Barnechea, Santiago, Chile that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and mountain biking.
February 22, 2021A moderately difficult hike with great views of Santiago. Some rock scrambling near the top and a bit slippery on the way down due to loose rock. Very few people on the trail during the week. Recommended.
January 1, 2021My husband and I started this hike yesterday, but got a late start right before high noon so we didn’t finish it. Highly recommend either going early in the morning or late afternoon-evening during the summer. Wear a hat and prepare to get your butt kicked, the rating is accurate. We also had running shoes which made the descent pretty difficult. Would be much easier with boots. Incredible views of Santiago! We plan on going back so we can finish the trail and take in more sights. It is indeed lightly trafficked and not crowded at all, it was quite lovely.
December 21, 2020October 12, 2020Nice climb with way less people underway then more classic Santiago routes; although it is easy to get off path on your way down. Avoid leaving the peak too late.
