Sendero Cascadas via Caleta Gonzalo is a 3.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Chaitén, Los Lagos, Chile that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips.
The highlight of the hike was the hidden waterfall slowly revealing itself around the canyon wall as you scramble among the boulders in the river.Otherwise, the river crossing provided for great views despite the navigational challenge it presented. The hike was mostly through a wet forest with boulders here and there that required some scrambling to break up the otherwise boring green jungle tunnel.
