Cascadas Escondidas is a 2.5 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Chaitén, Los Lagos, Chile that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking.
If this is considered easy, I’m cautiously looking forward to experiencing what’s considered moderate or difficult. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable climb, with several views of the waterfalls, the trail itself with sunlight filtering through ancient redwoods. Along the way you’ll experience rocks, roots and occasional mud. There are several areas where you can climb vertically aided by log steps and wooden handrails. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
Beautiful hike but would definitely rate it at least medium rather than easy. In between sections of mud and trail are tons of steps and ladders created from logs. The lower and upper Falls are absolutely stunning. Be sure to take the short detour to the base of the lower Falls, it is the prettiest view of the hike.
Great hike through a sense forest. Beautiful waterfalls. We left at 10:30 and only passed a few people.
Surprisingly tough. Has stairs/ladders most of the way, can be slick due to rain and the waterfalls. Waterfall views were worth the short excursion if you’re in the area.
