Sentier Mekinac Trail is a 6.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, camping, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from April until October.

Randonnée magnifique! Belle variété à même le sentier. Vaut la peine de faire le 500m de plus pour voir les points de vue au sommet. FYI, sur le site de Parcs Canada il est indiqué que la randonnée fait 11 km avec un dénivelé de 600m. Ça inclut les points de vue. Je ne suis pas la plus expérimentée et j’ai adoré!

The trail itself began with some steep steps. The path was well-marked and simple to follow. The “waterfall” was more like a small brook, but pretty. Some good viewpoints. We were fortunate after the rain and saw many colourful and interesting mushrooms!

Belle randonnée de 11km si vous aimez être dans le bois, car le Sentier est parfois étroit, mais toujours bien entretenu. Plusieurs petits points d’eau et cascades tout au long du sentier. Une petite montée de marches au début, mais sans plus. Pas une randonnée que l’on fait pour la vue au sommet il n’y en a pas. Facile pour le dénivelé, intermédiaire pour le 11km avec option de prendre le sentier des deux criques pour 17km.

Mardi 2020-06-09 Magnifique sentier bien aménagé, même parfois trop (du moins selon mon goût personnel). Après environ 2km très plat, en longeant la rivière St-Maurice, on arrive à une superbe passerelle flotante dans une baie où un castor faisait sa baignade. Par la suite débute la montée en escalier sur une distance approximative de 750m. Nous y avons d'ailleurs croisé une famille d'ours. La montée se fait bien car a plusieurs séquences moins accentuées. Arrivé au sommet, ne vous laissez pas berner par le premier point de vue, quoi que très beau, et continuez 250m vers le second (celui avec les chaises rouge). Par la suite, le retour se fait bien avec une superbe section longeant un cours d'eau et ses cascades. Puis retour au stationnement par la forêt, toujours aussi belle. Tout au long de la randonnée, le chant des oiseaux nous accompagne et nous n'y avons croisé pratiquement personne d'autre. Bien que classée difficile par Parcs Canada, cette randonnée se fait plutôt facilement et est bien balisée.

it's a Trail with 2 nice point of view. I would recommend this Trail if you are looking to have moderate hiking. I liked the fauna changes few time, I enjoyed it :) but if you are going for a stunning view I would recommend to choose another trail
