Pink Lake Trail is a very easy hike that most people can do in about an hour. It's a wonderful hike with beautiful views of the blue green lake. This hike involves a lot of stairs so you will want to leave your bikes and strollers behind. The area is popular and sees a lot of tourism, so you may want to arrive at the trailhead early to get a parking spot. Pink Lake is a unique lake in that it has a bright green color, especially in the summers due to algae that grows in the water. Pink Lake is a meromictic lake, meaning that the layers of water do not mix, which has caused the bottom of the lake to completely lack oxygen. Some of the species of fish that live in the lake are believed to be prehistoric. One unique fish that lives in the lake is a freshwater three-spined stickleback fish. In an effort to preserve the lake, swimming and pets are not allowed.

Nice easy trail to get outside with people who aren't super hikers. Has beautiful views in all seasons. Way too many people on weekends. A light hike/walk - there are stairs too. Done this many times.

Not much of a challenge but very scenic. It is quite busy with families, children, and tourists stopping to take pictures and can be muddy after rain.

I biked up to this trail from downtown Ottawa but forgot to bring a lock forcing me to carry the bike around the lake. This was not a problem as the trail and stairways are wide enough to do this while still being able to pass others. Beautiful views and plenty of information and signage.

Great trail for a beginner like me! Lots of stairs but the view alone is worth it!

Great short trail if you're looking for something casual and leisurely. Not long and not difficult, great for when you have a group of people because everyone can keep up and enjoy the view.

Pink lake is very pretty on a sunny day - its an unearthly green. The lake feels like a little oasis that's very close to the city of Ottawa.

The main problem with this trail is that its very popular. Don't even think about coming on a Saturday or Sunday around Thanksgiving!

However, if you do catch the trail when its less busy, its a nice walk. The Mica mines along the route are an interesting quirk.

Warning: there are lots of stairs on this trail!

This is a very easy hike that most people can do in about an hour. i have been taking my family here for years and my 6 year old can almost run the entire trail in about 40 minutes.

Get there early as it fills up fast and there is no parking. Wonderful family hike.
