An internationally known public space with extraordinary views from its lookouts. The park opened in 1876 and is believed to be the first officially protected space in Quebec. At least 4 million people visit Mont Royal each year. The park is the only Canadian commons designed by American architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park in New York City.

Beautiful view at top, you can take an expedited way up that isn't 3.7 miles or whatever it says, it pretty much steps right up the side of the mountain. Often there are vendors up there with water or ice cream. There is also a piano for people to play, which is an amazing idea I discovered in multiple places on my travels throughout Canada. Sitting on a bench looking out at the city with music in the background is something else.

Great hike - 400 steps and difficult after a day of walking the city, but well worth the view at the top!

This is a very good park to walk in. I went to the Chalet and it was NOT easy. It is also very cold the higher we went. Take your time, you will get there. The pay off is a beautiful view. gorgeous.
