Lac-du-Pimbina Trail is a 8.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.

Getting There

Hike up a mountain to enjoy the viewpoints of lakes Solitaire, aux Chavaux and du Pimbina. Then follow the Ruisseau Bouchard.

Parking is available.

Parc National de la Mauricie Exit 226 of autoroute 55. Entre St Jean des Piles There is a 7,80$ fee to gain entry to the park.

Randonnée sympathique mais très achalandée (fin de semaine de la fête du travail) : beaucoup de dénivelés à travers la forêt, points de vue superbes sur la rivière de la Mauricie et les lacs environnant, qu'on longe par la suite. Un passage un peu boueux mais des troncs y ont été placé pour ne pas se mouiller les pieds. Et petit hic : une fois la route traversée, les 3 derniers kilomètres sont près de la route.

Super Trail!! Première partie achalandée mais deuxième partie, seuls au monde. Beau paysage tout au long de la journée, sentier longeant lac et ruisseaux. Point de vue après la première montée décevant du aux arbres brûlés. Mais la vue qu’on a tout au long du parcours en vaut nettement la peine. Il y avait bcp de boue mais nous on aime ça! Ça ajoute un kick!! :D

Magnifique randonnée mais 2 caveats. Parfois le sentier est très mal balisé. J'ai dû utiliser l'application Alltrails pour me retrouver. De plus, le sentier est étroit et la végétation nous touche les jambes. En pantalons longs, ce n'est pas grave mais c'est agaçant quand cela arrive trop souvent en jambes nues.

This was my least favourite trail by far. Most of the trail felt closed in, having just enough room for shoulder width. I found a few moments I enjoyed but I will not go back. Je n'ai pas du tout aimé cette randonnée.
