Uhthoff Trail is a 14 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Severn, Ontario, Canada that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.
Great to meander through the trails. Easily marked for bikers, not so much walkers. Lots and lots of dog poop to avoid.
My daily morning ride - cross/gravel bike - Orillia to Coldwater. Good trail: ranges from fine packed gravel to hard dirt--fairly level throughout; urban wooded areas to light forest to farm country and back to bush country again, before Coldwater. Very well maintained and lots of great rural scenery. If you feel ambitious, you can ride all the way to Midland, no problem (route is paved beyond Waubashene). No motorized vehicles allowed, except snowmobiles in the winter.
Really great easy walking trail. Good for off leash activity for dogs. Very icy in sections right now, so wear proper footwear with traction aids if possible.
I used to love this trail and would go jogging early mornings at the Division road entry (Orillia). Unfortunately, someone decided it was a good idea to lay large sharp gravel along the whole trail. Forget jogging now, your feet get ripped apart. I tried to use a stroller there the other day and my son couldn't stand how bumpy it was, and my friend also commented that her feet were aching. This beautiful trail is ruined now for me. If you go, wear hikers or thick soled shoes. There are some nice streams and scenery on this stretch. The trail will take you to Coldwater if you take it to the end.
