Really neat scenery and interesting history but a very simple trail. Virtually no elevation change and most of path is wide and clear.

I like the Spruce Bog boardwalk trail for the birdwatching (first time I've ever seen Grey Jays!), and the fact that it's accessible to all. I went during the early spring (late March) when there was still snow on the ground and while it was relatively busy, it was still enjoyable as a family outing with young kids.

Spruce Bog Boardwalk contains several boardwalk sections in this 1.5 km. It's a beautiful, easy trail to do, and is wheelchair accessible. In the winter you can be delighted to feed the grey jays and chickadees right in the parking lot. (Grey Jays love roasted peanuts, and chunks of crackers)
