Start the at the Deschênes Rapids parking along the John A. Macdonald Parkway near the end of Woodroffe Ave. Follow the Rideau Trail thru the Mud Lake area. Pass Britannia Park and on to a small park just before crossing Carling Ave. Except for a small section along a baseball field, the trail is paved all the way to 2.3km west of Moodie Dr. where it joins the Greenbelt Pathway. From there it is a wide gravel trail all the way to Robertson Rd. Continue to parking lot P6 on Old Richmond road. That section of the trail can be quite muddy at times.
