Ok for a walk with the dog but very flat and boring

Flat trail in and out. You can park at the bridge and cut the ramble in half. Several lookout spots along the way.

This was a lovely morning hike with our two young kids on an ideal-weather early July morning. The locks and bridges were fascinating, and we saw frogs, dragonflies, and butterflies along the trail. Having a scenic vista as a destination for an out-and -back was great, followed by a picnic lunch back at the park/trailhead.

Very nice, easy going trail that goes right by the water. Note that you do need to cross a road about half way through. There are multiple places to park for free, but I think it's nicest to park along the road near the locks where there is a public washroom, and to then walk to the other end and back.

Also known as the Tip-To-Tip Trail. Ever-changing foliage, and the canal and river as backdrops, the trail is different every visit. Now the fall foliage is on display and the view of the water opening up more as the leaves tumble down. Can’t wait for the next ramble!

Lovely quiet walk with the sound of flowing water. Trail well maintained. Note that historic bridge over river is closed and under constuction until “spring 2018”. Spotted a pair of Trumpeter Swans in pond upstream from dam, quite impressive and unexpected for March 18, 2018. (see photos)
