NO BUGS!!! Trail is becoming overgrown in many areas. The unmaintained section of the trail after the last lookout is completely overgrown and muddy. I turned back barely halfway between the lookout and the end of the trail. Otherwise this was a nice short forested trail with a ton of birds and wildlife.

easy trail. narrow spots. unmaintained portion is walkable until the water treatment plant, path disappears and I was forced to turn around. lots of squirrels and lots of lookouts.

This is a nice and easy walk through the trees. The squirrels are aggressive and follow you for food. The chickadees and nuthatches will land on your hands even if you don’t have any food.

Great local path but very busy. Rarely get more than 2mins without other people. Lots of bird watching

This is a beautiful hike, full of many wonderful surprises each visit. The wooded area has taken a drastic hit from Mother Nature late 2017 a microburst passed through the mud lake area causing sever tree devastation. Several trees were up rooted snapped off and the NCC has been busy trying to restore and reforest the area. Mud lake is a national treasure a small forest in the city. Many people enjoy the area but several people neglect the NO DOG Signs! This is a nature reserve please respect and adhere to the posted rules NO DOGS and be respectful towards the creatures that call mud lake home.

I visit this trail every couple of days on my morning walk. It is great watching it through the seasons. Please note that the "dogs on leash" description is incorrect. Dogs are not permitted at Mud Lake with the exception of the part of the trail north of Cassels Street.

Easy walking trail with family. Sometimes with confusing paths, dead-ends.

The trail was awesome, bring some nuts or seeds with you and the squirrel, chipmunks and birds will literally eat from your hand, one of the nicest kid friendly walks in Ottawa!!!?!?!?

Easy walk , birds .

Nice trail for the first part. Towards the far end the vegetation gets thick and there are some muddy parts so progress slows. There are some beautiful views of Mud Lake and wetlands. Definitely worth exploring!

This trail is clearly one of the best places to look for birds in Ottawa! Unfortunately, the forest is being cut down.

Love this trail

Mudlake used to be my quick getaway in the city... unfortunately the city went in over winter and clear cutted a large portion of trees and widen the path so that two vehicles could drive side by side. RIP Mudlake
