We hiked the trail on a chilly October day with a gusty wind, but were well sheltered in the trees. The ground was covered with a thick carpet of leaves but the route is well marked. The trail passes through quite a varied terrain despite its small area - flat hardwood forest, rocky outcrops, sharp ridges, and gullies. What surprised me the most is the large number of fallen trees, even large ones, showing the signs of many storms that have damaged the forest. But the trail maintenance is very good and the route easy to walk along. The route we walked measured 3.9 km.

Great trail. It lies when it says it’s 3.4km. I tracked it and it was 4.4 km lol

Starts off a bit boring with a boggy young forest but then gets interesting with a boardwalk, some old lime kiln ruins (almost gone), a lookout over a swamp and nice hardwood forest with interesting rocks scattered about. I like the trail guide that's available at the start. There were very few people on the trail when we went and once you were away from the road it was quite peaceful. Good signage except for one tricky part near the end (take the path to the right!) A real walk in the woods
