Levay's Lane and Chickadee Trail is a 2.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Ajax, Ontario, Canada that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October.

January 3, 2021Simplistic if going with kids. Birds are an added bonus that makes it fun. Trails aren't maintained during the winter so it can be slippery at some places but overall a great walk with lots of wildlife sightings (turkeys, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, geese, ducks, deer).
December 31, 2020December 29, 2020December 29, 2020It was great to feed the friendly chickadees and see all the ducks and geese. Pretty crowded near the parking lot but other trails were fine. Great view from the Cranberry Marsh viewing platform.

November 30, 2020Beautiful spot, especially on a cool, sunny November day. Didn't expect to sit on a beach. Excellent for little people, especially the chickadees. Highly recommend for kids of all ages - 1-99.
November 8, 2020everytime i go or drive pass it is extremely busy. nice easy trail and great interaction with the birds, chipmunks, ducks etc. beautiful area but like I said super busy and no dogs allowed.

July 24, 2020Fantastic trail for kids. Bring birdseed for the chickadee trail. Lots of song birds will feed from your hand. Connects to longer Levay’s Lane trail which goes down to the lake. Very open and hot so choose cooler weather.
July 4, 2020Went to the trail yesterday it is actually open.Lots of birds,raccoons,ducks, swans and critters such as squirrels and chipmunks. There is paid parking ($6).There were only a few locals so maybe most persons think it is still closed...hence less crowding.
July 4, 2020I like this trail but markers are needed on the actual paths.There were many side roads and narrow tracks that lead no where. After walking on the road in the heat ,we turned back as there was no scenery and we had no clue if we were on the right path. There were so many bugs ,grateful for bug spray. Loved the wildlife(only reason for 3 stars) There were: birds,ducks,chipmunks,swans,squirrels, raccoons but on the Chickadee trail they can get savage about food.They are so accustomed to humans,they do not run away . You can also feed them allowed items. It was too confusing to be a 5 star experience. There is no garbage receptacle so be mindful of waste. You have to pay for parking. Wear bug spray. Enjoy feeding the wildlife.
June 27, 2020The animal diversity is unreal! Very kid friendly, a good walk for the entire family. We saw a deer running across the field.
June 23, 2020This was a great trail. It was long and there wasn’t many people on it when I was there. My daughter loved seeing all the wildlife. We even had a chipmunk come right up to us! The geese were friendly too
June 20, 2020Great trail... I was able to see a deer, amazing. It gets hot during the walk from time to time, just cool off under the shade and continue, easy pace walking or bike riding.
