This loop trail encircles Lake of the Woods, traveling through a variety of forest types, from old growth stands to elevated rocky outcrops. These outcrops offer excellent views of Silver Peak, six km to the west and Lake of the Woods below. At one point, the trail descends to the lake shore where a short boardwalk connects to the lakes only island.

We did this hike the year the trail opened and were pleasantly surprised, we have returned several times since. It gives you a variety of views and was very easy to navigate. Our dog loved it and we appreciate how secluded it is.

Nice, easy hike with great views. We completed it in 1.5 hours with our little dog. No people which was nice too. Only downside is very rough road on Bell Lake road.
