Hiking

I’ve hiked in the past. Always a great view. Several trees were cut down since last visit along the coastline. It’s an easy walk fairly flat with some floating boards walk as well.

Walking

There is the extension which runs along the close to highway w lots of car noises. Then there is the original path going towards Avery Beach park which I did, which IMO is more peaceful. Quaint little pebble path leads to a floating dock which is the highlight w the lake views. Mostly stroller friendly, but bring the bigger wheel stroller for a smoother ride for baby and easier time pushing along packed pebbles. Nice for evening strolls, jogs or walk w your date.

I consider it a 5 star walking trail; 3 star hiking trail. It is mostly a gravel trail (and floating docks). I had a great experience, but just wouldn't call it a hike. Great for someone who wants to "hike" alone and not be worried (about getting lost on a trail). its very nice along the lake the whole way. can be busy also.

Dirty, obstacles on trail (pipes popping out of ground), loud traffic and boats. Wouldn’t return.

Such a beautiful trail! We went during sunset time and the views off the dock were breathtaking. Make sure to bring bug repellent if you go during this time. The water near the docks was also very warm and we wished we had brought bathing suits to take a swim! Overall a great trail that took about 40 min.

Walking

So beautiful! I have to admit we didn’t do the whole trail. We did the part west of AllTrails trail marker which was along a board walk and then we went east to the swimming docks and spent a good amount of time swimming there. So I cannot comment on the rest of the trail but swimming was our intent to give our tired feet a rest after the last two days of hiking. The water was great!

Easy hike along the water but lots to see and nicely shaded for the most part to avoid the scorching heat.

Nice easy trail along the coast. Hard packed / icy surface in small sections but easily walkable with the dusting of snow on top. Benches available along the way to enjoy the view of frozen bay.

This is an easy and very scenic trail. It can get quite busy during the day in the summer months with hikers, joggers, bikers and even swimmers and fishers along the docks. If you prefer a more quiet walk I would suggest going in the early morning before 9am. Be aware there is wild parsnip growing along the trail. Please remind children to stay on the path as the sap can cause serious burns to skin and eyes. However, don't let this deter you! There are gorgeous wild flowers and trees throughout and you may be lucky enough to collect some wild raspberries or blackberries in the mid to late summer months. You can also find apples in Orchard Park in the fall which is located towards the south end of the trail. There are a number of spots to swim along the trail as well as Avery Beach where you can easily put in a canoe, kayak or SUP. There is also a beach volleyball area at the beach! Many benches and chairs have been set up along the trail so you can rest or just sit and enjoy the view. This trail can also be used in the winter months. Although it is not maintained, it gets enough traffic to make it walkable and many people enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Great little walk. Start off under the Bridge off Centre Street. Follow the trail all the way under the Highway Bridge. Unfortunately there is no loop. Great little walk. Year round.

This is part of the Trans Canada Trail. The trail had several scenic rest areas and I saw a variety of birds! A beautiful walk!
