Great spot for a quick hike. Was great to get away from the every day hussle and enjoy nature. While I wouldn't really say this is a moderate hike, I think it's more on the easy side, but over all great spot. By the way we did see some dogs off leash, yeah not that great but most of the owners quickly called their dogs back and held them until we past.

Enjoy the outdoors!!

Our family visits with our teacup pupps weekly enjoying the off leash section and leashed section. we have never had an issue. but for those non dog lovers i can see there being an issue and really should not come as you have to see our dogs in the off leash section before you even get to your walk. I reccomend you coming and enjoying this beautiful place for yourself and you decide if this is the right walking area for you. Also with all the walking areas that we have that are leashed i believe we dog lovers deserve and area as well. and this one has done my family quite will. our children love this place and have never had a problem.

Don’t recommend this trail due to all the irresponsible dog owners and dog walkers allowing the animals to run free despite signage clearly indicating they must be leashed. You are forced to be in close proximity to these dogs due to the narrow trails and I was attacked twice by uncontrolled dogs during one hike. Very dangerous environment for young kids, the elderly, the infirm, or anyone unable to defend themselves from these dogs. No evidence of any enforcement. Will not go back.

The dog(s) must be leashed. But all dogs on Heber Down park trails unleased.

Is anyone control this rules here?

Heber Down Conservation Area Trail

Pets are permitted at most Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority conservation areas, however for the enjoyment of everyone we do insist that pets be kept on a leash (maximum 2-m long) at all times, and that pet owners clean up after their pets. The rules applied to pets within the conservation areas help to first minimize the disturbance of sensitive wildlife, and secondly to ensure that public safety is not jeopardized so that all visitors can enjoy their time within these protected areas. This pet policy is enforced through the Conservation Authorities Act, with fines being issued by Conservation Authority Enforcement Staff.

Herber Downs is a really nice trail, which is secluded from the whole city sounds. Great paths, with a mix of hiking & walking. There are some paved sections, and many opportunities to see some nice spots off the trail.

There's a fenced dog park at the north entrance, which is a great place to unwind.

Beautiful hiking trail with lots of scenery. There are three main trails - but the Devil’s Den is my favourite. It is also very well maintained. There is a fenced off-leash dog park area located at the north entrance. Parking is also $5 for full day.

We brought our 6 month old Husky here and were all impressed! It is paid parking ($5 for a full day), but it definitely is worth it. The Conservation is VERY well maintained. We did not see any dog poop anywhere on our 3 hour hike. All of the owners seemed very responsible and there were garbages at all entrances. There’s even a fenced off leash dog park at the north end of the Conservation. Definitely recommend!

Trail was great! A little poison ivy but clearly marked with signs in the areas of concern but all in all the family and the dog had a great hike we've saved this location in our GPS for future trips..... definitely recommend it

A lot of different scenic routes and habitats including fields, forests, creeks, a pond and rolling hills. There are quite a few interlinking paths to follow but I always get lost as there are only maps at either end. Dogs are supposed to be on leash, but it's hit or miss if people follow the rule.

Well maintained trail with some challenging hills and a large staircase (97 steps). Outdoor training trail run at its best.
