Lots of birds and butterflies, several benches scattered around. Leads down to the canal and all those paths. Sunny areas and shady spots as well. Pretty spot to take the dog, only saw a few people. Mosquitoes weren't very pleasant but it is the season.

This is an easy walk through a protected wildlife and forested area. Lots of birds to see with information signage about the protected area throughout. Aside from the official trail, there are numerous spurs and side trails to explore. Finally there is a beautiful garden and nature centre to visit as well. Plenty of parking. Drawback is that trail does abut a baseball diamond so it can be noisy at times.

The Fletcher Wildlife Park is a nice hike on a variety of terrain, some grassy dirty areas, some gravel trails. There are a lot or routes, lots to see. There are interpretive panels, bird houses, insect houses, sections of old farm being returned to a wild state. There are only a few small hills to walk up or down, they can be avoided if desired. Overall a nice simple hike.

The trails around the garden are nice, but you can easily stretch into a longer walk through The Arboretum. It’s a nice park. As others have said, it’s not a strenuous workout - but it is a nice walk.

Beautiful sanctuary hidden in the middle of the city. Take a walk while learning sustainable horticulture practices! Excellent for tourists and locals alike.

I might come as a bit strict, being used to hikes on grander terrains, so I thought this was a bit ordinary. But I do have to say, for a place right in the middle of a big city like Ottawa, it' sa nice place to walk in the nature. Don't expect to get your daily workout though!

For being in the centre of Ottawa the Fletcher Wildlife Garden is really pretty. There are different habitat zones that add variety and it makes for an easy ramble especially for little toddlers. It's also known for birdwatching. The trail isn't long and you don't really feel like you're in the wild but it really is a nice stroll.
