Beautiful sanctuary hidden in the middle of the city. Take a walk while learning sustainable horticulture practices! Excellent for tourists and locals alike.

I might come as a bit strict, being used to hikes on grander terrains, so I thought this was a bit ordinary. But I do have to say, for a place right in the middle of a big city like Ottawa, it' sa nice place to walk in the nature. Don't expect to get your daily workout though!

For being in the centre of Ottawa the Fletcher Wildlife Garden is really pretty. There are different habitat zones that add variety and it makes for an easy ramble especially for little toddlers. It's also known for birdwatching. The trail isn't long and you don't really feel like you're in the wild but it really is a nice stroll.
