cross country skiing
This is a very nice trail. it has a bit of everything.
This 4km loop trail is a favourite of mine. It takes you up a short incline to walk atop the Esker and then gently walks you down the other side about 1.5km later. From here you head through the forest for a while and end up hiking alongside Cold creek. Next is a planted coniferous forest and then ending where you started on a grassy field. About 45minutes to hike, but there are a number of looped trails that stem from this trail. There is a large wooden trail map a few 100 yards from the parking lot which will show you the route. All the trails are well labelled. This trail is located at the Goodrich Loomis Conservation area, (part of Lower Trent Conservation) and you will have lots of parking, no admission fee, and there is a clean vault toilet near the parking lot. Trail is also great for mountain biking and cross-country skiing in the winter.
