Trail was open. Started at Marker 26 to Elora. Best for mountain or gravel bike. Trail condition wasn't best - rutted, bumpy and small potholes. Scenery nice if you want to risk eyes away from your path and hitting a rut. About 25% was shaded by tree cover, the rest was open to sun. Stopped at Bellwood Lake for a dip which was wonderfully refreshing after cooking in the heat! Ice Cream Stand in Elora was an added bonus.

Attempted a through hike in one day. Started in Cataract just after day break and made it to Fergus well after dark and after it started raining. Got to Gzowski Street and the trail abruptly ended. There was indication that the trail could be picked up again on Beatty Line but it was dark, my phone could not be operated well in the rain and I was pooched. It was a lovely trail but the signage could have been better to indicate direction and/or distance to pick up the trail again.

Easy, flat trail. Detoured a little so it wasn’t just a straight line. Good shade/ cover if it’s lightly raining. No bugs.

Accidentally found this trail to start the Forks of the Credit loop trail, since we couldn’t find parking on a crowded weekend. Nice long trail, easy access to lots of other trails. Well maintained and not as crowded. Lots to see on this trail.

Backpacking

This trail goes through some very interesting landscapes . We did a few point to point treks at different times to cover the whole trail . We used local cab companies to drop us off then walk back to our vehicle . Dave at Fergus cab was a great help . We ate supper at Belwood and a couple times in Erin . The Erin restaurant was about one km up the road from the trail crossing , very good food . Be sure to check out the dam at Belwood Lake . Happy trails . K
