Our family of five did this trail as our first difficult hike. We did it backwards and ended up on the adventure trail last. It turned into our reward for finishing and taking 4 hours for little kids (8,11 & 14) . Beautiful lookouts. Bring snacks and water!
I did this trail all the time when I still lived at home. Loved the scenery lots of wildlife.
There are a number great lookout points along the trail to enjoy. Most of the trail is easy with some sections of moderate difficulty. The adventure trails are well worth exploring. Unfortunately , the trail is not marked very well in various spots. The one negative is the presence of an aggregates business that comes right up against the trail early on. Other than that, it is a hike well worth taking.
Disappointing. The active quarry on the edge of the trail was disturbingly distracting. The loud heavy machinery and the smell of diesel fuel was a stark contrast to the sights and it took too long hiking at a good pace to get away from it.
Awesome little jaunt in the woods.
