A full 56.3km end-to-end of the Dufferin Hi Lands can be done in 2-4 days depending on how much sunshine you have and your fitness level. We broke the hike into four parts, all of which were very manageable. Hiking from Lavender to Mono Cliffs seems to be more downhill than hiking the reverse. There is some beautiful scenery along the trail, but nothing overly picturesque or breathtaking, as is the case with other sections. Best done in summer or fall as the hardwood forests are at their fullest or most colourful. Be prepared for over 10km of road walking.

Beautiful trail. Lots of hills but not overly difficult if you’re in decent shape.

Great hike on the Dufferin Hi-land section. Varied terrain including woods, ponds, streams and some sections of road.

A big portion of this stretch is road and farmers field. Nothing too exciting.

I’ve been to Mono numerous times but never to this side of the park. It didn’t disappoint! I had to use my icers for a short time going up the hill on the side trail but the rest of the trail was ice free and for the most part mud free as well. Considering all the rain we’ve been getting I expected the trail to be pretty muddy.
