did this out and back in two parts on two different days including the next leg west to nafziger road, not shown on map because it is a park road not a trail for that portion of the walk. Somewhat buggy and overgrown (in particular watch out for old fence wire crossing the trail at tripping height in a couple of spots) but we saw lots of frogs and birds and butterflies. Corn's almost knee high! This trail is a great local gem out of the large crowds. path is quite twisty in spots so watch your blazes!

There were already mosquitos out early June so I'd recommend it for early spring or fall. I was glad I had longer pants on as it is overgrown in many areas. A very narrow path and difficult to navigate if trying to social distance. Signage isn't great in areas and at one point I turned around for that reason. Otherwise it is a lovely little spot.

Nice trail, some short overgrown parts.

Trail has been rerouted to the other side of the river. We didn’t see the sign saying it was closed and spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get thought the flood debris. When we finally gave up we found the sign that said it was closed and had been rerouted on the west side of the river. Once we found that it was a lovely hike through the woods and beside the river with masses of Trilliums in bloom. Parts of the trail run alongside the farmers field and across a meadow. Only a couple of slightly muddy spots even after all the rai we’ve had lately. Trail now ends at Carmel Koch rd.not Sandhills.

Trail markers, blazes, and other signage are still in decent shape, just very muddy in certain spots. Bring solid footwear with good traction and medial support.

In bad shape. I think you're supposed to traverse a field before entering the woods? there's no obvious signage off the road. trail is completely overgrown, deadfall everywhere. needs some serious TLC.
