McIntosh Run trail is located in Herring Cove, near Halifax, Nova Scotia. The short lakeside trail is one of a number of trails located within the 1350ha of land known as the Purcell's Cove Backlands. McIntosh Run trail stretches along rivers, ponds, and marshland connecting a number of surrounding subdivisions. The trail offers opportunities to bike, walk, and run, as well as snowshoe and cross country ski in the summer. Part of the trail remains undeveloped, where the pathway morphs from smooth gravel to rocky woodland pathway, heading towards Roachs Pond. No current development is underway at this time. Parking Information: Best parking is at the large community parking lot at the trailhead off of Herring Cove Road.
