Kearney Lake Trails offers hikers the choice of walking the Maskwa Loop and Popcorn Island Loop of the Kearney Lake trail system, located within the Blue Mountain Birch Cove Wilderness Area. The loop offers hikers views of Kearney Lake, and surrounding woodlands, and is a moderate hike, offering a short tour of the backcountry. The trail maybe be used to connect onto the more difficult Charlie’s Lake Loop, Fox Lake Loop, and Hobson’s and Ash Lake loop. In the spring hikers enjoy wildflowers in bloom, as well as a variety of bird sightings. The trail is also well travelled by hikers and snowshoers in the winter. Parking Information: For this loop the best parking is at the Maskwa Canoe Club parking lot. Parking is also available at the end of Collins Road.
