Hobson's Lake Trail and Ash Lake Loop is a 8.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Kearney Lake, Nova Scotia, Canada that features a lake and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October.
Take the Larry Uteck Blvd exit from the Hwy 102, then head west towards Kearney Lake Road. After passing Kearney Lake Road, take a left on Belle St, which turns into Collins Road, and follow until reaching a turnaround. Park there and the trail starts around the left side of the fence.
I was happy to see tags - its early in the season so parts of the trail were a bit hard to find - overall a great trail! I would certainly do it again :)
Once you leave the Hobson's Lake Trail, you are more likely to see a canoe or kayak then another hiker. As a result, the Ash Lake loop offers a great opportunity to empty your mind and just enjoy the day.
Great backwoods wilderness trail that is relatively close(10-15min) outside of downtown Halifax. The Ash Lake part of the hike is not as well trodden but is still fairly well marked with ribbons on the trees. Took me about 2:20 to complete. You can also just do the Hobson's Lake Trail which takes about 1:15 for a quick but satisfying one.
