The Birch Cove to Blue Mountain trail offers a steady climb to the summit of Blue Mountain, offering the highest, unobstructed views in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The trek to the trailhead involves walking along logging roads to the woodland path, which has no winter maintenance. Caution is advised when snow is on the ground. This trail leads to the site from the trailhead off of Lewis Lake Terrace. Parking Information: This route follows from the trailhead at the end of Lewis Lake Terrace. The “Blue Mountain Summit” trail offers a second pathway from parking at the end of Anahid Drive.
