East Coast Trail La Manche Section is a 2.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Mobile, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Beautiful scenery and a great trail overall. The trail is rugged in sections, with stepping stones in places over muddy areas. Lots of up and down, stairs and wooded area with some climbing on tree roots and rocks. It makes for a great challenge for kids.
The trail is rugged in sections, with stepping stones in places over muddy areas. Lots of up and down, stairs and wooded area with some climbing on tree roots and rocks. The trail as far as the village and the bridge is fairly easy. The more difficult section is after the bridge and into Doctors Cove. Beautiful scenery and a great trail overall. Perfect for kids, at least as far as the bridge.
This trail is ok. It was incredibly crowded and also a bit muddy, considering it is August- not muddy enough to deter a person, but if you like to keep your pet out of it, that is tricky. The views at the bridge are nice but coast is not spectacular by NL standards and getting to the bridge is brief enough but not an interesting hike. Did not go on to Doctors cove. I doubt that I would hike it again.
Great trail, one of the best hikes on the East Coast Trail. There is a little bit of mud, but it’s hardly muddy when compared to other segments of the ECT. Only downside is the trail in AllTrails only goes to Doctor’s Cove. It’s about 6.8 km if you want to walk trial head to trail head
Good trail, more challenging than expected. We went the day after a heavy rainfall, and there was a trickle of water throughout the entire trail. More inclines that hadn’t been mentioned in other reviews. The views were great! Also good to note: there were a lot of black flies, as a great deal of this trail is wooded.
Great trail. It was pretty busy today (Sunday) but most people respected social distancing. The views and bridge are absolutely amazing! We even seen a baby seal! Surprisingly the kids took an unexpected swim as it was about 24 degrees on the 31 of May!!! Highly recommend checking this place out for sure!
