Ross Island lies directly off the east coast of Grand Manan Island and only becomes a true island a few hours either side of high tide when other times it's ground accessible by vehicle or foot. Home to Grand Harbour Lighthouse built in 1879 this relic lasted 134 years before it was destroyed during a winter storm in 2013.

Cross from Grand Manan at end thoroughfare rd on low tide. You can either walk the perimeter or the road through the middle of the island. At the end of the road on the Southern end there is a red trail to the East that is well maintained and makes a nice loop. Either stay the night or hike over 3 hours before low tide and be back before 3 hours after the lowest tide.
