Harbor Passage Trail is a 3.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
This is an out and back trail which leads you from downtown Saint John to an overlook of the Reversing Rapids! The trail is beautiful and has historical information all along the way which tells you about the city, the area and the amazing geological and natural phenomena all around you.
The trail begins optimistically with maintained paths and signs and cool things all pointed out to you and fun exhibits, but then it abruptly ends. After that you’re trudging uphill alone in some deserted and abandoned industrial wasteland, wondering to yourself if this is where you’re meant to be and if perhaps you made a wrong turn somewhere.. Basically this trail is a metaphor for life!
Great views! Paved trail easy to walk or bike on. Lots of benches to sit down and enjoy the view
This trail is great for all ages and also wheel chair and stroller accessible. It runs right around the Saint John Harbour from uptown all the way to Reversing Falls bridge. Great place for dog walking. There is seating/benches along the way. Very well kept and taken care of.
This trail is a great way to get to know the city of Saint John! It has many informative plaques about the history, ecology and other sites along the trail. It leads you right from downtown up to the Reversing Rapids where the river actually runs backwards at high tide. We saw harbor seals and many ocean birds along our walk. We also took a detour up to Fort Howe to get a great view over the city and the harbor.
