This is probably the most scenic trail in the Duck Mountains for horseback riding. The Watjask area has been noted for its high proportion of old-growth forest stands, areas of steep sloping topography and high diversity. The trail loop is approximately 19 km through pockets of open meadows scattered through mixed wood stands, lakes and wetlands. Additionally, you will gain views of agricultural landscape along the south end of the Ducks. There are many other trails in the area worth exploring but note that logging in some areas are still fairly active, therefore please familiarize yourself with the area and contact the local government office for more information. Note: This area is used by the local Birch River Riding Club once a year for their annual trail ride in August.
