The Pine River Lookout Trail follows what was once a well traveled road not too long ago from Pine River up the escarpment to the Duck Mountains. The un-maintained trail offers fantastic views of the rolling landscape down to the first prairie and the road appears to stretch as far as the eye can see. The trail can be ventured by hiking, mountain biking, or snowshoeing. Note; the trail is part of the Snoman route in the winter, therefore if snowshoeing, you will need to start at the Wellman Lake nuisance grounds access road. This adds another 3.6 km on to your travels.

Boring out and back loop on double wide quad path. The view is nice, but the actual hike is boring and closed in. The real treasure is the secluded lake and dock that rarely sees any traffic.
