Take the time to experience the scenic lookout Lover’s Leap. This breath-taking view is a segment of the Manitoba Escarpment dating back over one hundred million years and classified as a Natural Park. To find this local gem, travel west of Pine River on Road #191 for 6 miles. The road will end in an open gravel pit. This would be a great place to park and begin a beautiful nature hike for 1.7 km one way. As you leave the gravel pit on the northwest end, follow the well traveled ATV trail. At the fork, keep left and continue on the trail (turning right takes you to the river). Note, there are no trail markers. You will experience back country with steep drop off embankments and high slopes until you find yourself at “Lovers Leap”. Look down off the steep bank to the Pine River flowing in the bottom.
