The Cook & Cooke Trail is an intermediate level or higher multi-use trail. The total trail from the ski hill area to the road below is 3.1 km whereas the Cook and Cooke sponsored portion (trailhead to end) is only 2.6 km. The first section transverses through several switchbacks before bordering the hillside where you can get a spectacular view of the valley below. Along this edge of the hill you will find stunted oak trees and characteristic birch trees. As you descend, find yourself in mature aspen/poplar stands with rolling slopes, creeks and wet areas which many creatures in this area call home. Keep an eye out for trail markers (flagging tape) as you will cross some other trails that lead to the downhill ski area. The trail end greets you with yet another fabulous view of the Swan Valley. Trails are maintained by the Tread the Thunder Mountain Bike Club.
