We went on the new loop. It isn’t marked and overgrown so you might pass it. It’s about 50 yards from the trail head. It’s overgrown and very uneven ground. But in saying that it adds some interest to the hike. Found some signs of a bear on the trail within the past few days and some deer. Bugs are crazy. Mostly big flys and some mosquitoes. I would have hiked the old loop but my son was getting tired.
