We connected from Black Mountain to Sunset trail via Yew lake. Very nice and relaxing walk with a couple big picnic tables with great view facing the lake! Great for photos too. It was a little foggy yesterday, so got some great dramatic pics.

Great little walk! Takes only about 30 mins. Very flat and easy. The lake is beautiful! Be bear aware though. We saw one near the lodge.

Just a heads up everyone.... Due to Covid 19, Cypress Bowl Road is now closed near the bottom. This means even mid level hikes such as the Skyline Trail will require an alternative entry point.

Protected trail along an ecologically sensitive area. NO DOGS ALLOWED. It's a beautiful trail. Short with minimal elevation gain. Only 2 stars because the trail was muddled with dog feces. There was a dog feces bag every couple of metres, or dog feces open right in the middle of the trail. We went in May where there was slippery, compacted snow and slipping into dog feces was very unpleasant. People, please stop letting your dogs roam offleash on on-leash trails/no dog trails. and please be decent and pick up after your dogs.

Nice short, flat trail that begins at the ski lodge and runs right along the lake. Take the bear warning signs seriously as we did see a black bear just off the trail.

Beautiful! But actually there are no dogs allowed on the Yew Lake Loop. The loop is VERY short (took us under 40 minutes for sure). We went mid June and there were patches of snow. So I think Mid June is the best time to start going on this hike.

This was an easy trail that can be completed in a very short time. We did this trail in combination with Bowen Lookout Trail. It is a family friendly and dog friendly walk in the woods
