Solo hike. Well maintained trail up to Jocelyn Hill. You will be rewarded with beautiful views of the inlet and Finlayson arm from the viewpoints especially at Jocelyn Hill. I took the back trail from there to the Malahat viewpoint and that segment was overgrown with some fallen trees. Lost the trail for about 30 seconds at some point. it would be good if it were maintained but i guess it's a more challenging trail to take due to the elevation grade if you were to start from the Malahat viewpoint towards Jocelyn Hill. lots of arbutus leaves on the ground could cause some slips or slides. Overall, it's 4 stars!

The recording mistakenly showed me as having gone all the way to Jocelyn hill summit with some weird offpath detours in between. How did that happen AllTrails?? It was working fine for the first couple of hours. We actually hiked past Squally Reach (beautiful) to just before the climb begins for Jocelyn hill. We turned around close to the spot someone else marked. On the way back we attempted to find the marked “Old Timberman trail and use it as a loop. But after 30 minutes bushwhacking along the line marked on the app, we gave up and retraced our steps to the main trail. The hike itself was great. Wish though that AllTrails had recorded it properly for my first time on Pro.

great hike up to Jocelyn peak, but it is not an easy climb, plenty of up along the way. Good trail though. Squally Reach makes a good stop for a bite to eat..it is about an hour past that to the top of Jocelyn.

Great trail, but unlike the description, it is an out-and-back; it is not a loop trail. Nice lunch spots at the top.

One of our absolute favorite training trail runs. Lots of elevation but all runnable, and one of the best views around at the summit

Thankful for the many pockets of shade along the trail on a hot day! Very well marked and in great condition; lots of signage/markers along the way. Beautiful viewpoints.

I definitely wouldn’t call this easy! I have done this hike a dozen times and it is a quick steep climb especially if you go longer way in. Go down to Mackenzie Bight then take the trail in. You go way more uphill and cardio rather then if you go in over the bridge. Downhill can be hard on the knees as it comes down just as fast as you go up. Amazing amazing views and just keep your head up for orange markers to follow.

Great hike through forest. A lot of up and down where hiking poles are a great help. Carry water for your dog as few creeks.

Beautiful hike. Well traveled and easy to follow. I would agree with earlier posts that this is not an easy hike due to length and elevation....it was the equivalent of 137 floors on the Apple iPhone step tracker. It is has some fantastic views!

Awesome hike! Wouldn’t rate it as “easy”, though! A fair amount of elevation gain going up the Timberman trail. Well marked, mostly forested trail with some nice view points along the way to Jocelyn Hill. Took us four hours at a comfortable pace and a food break up top.

Well marked trail with great views. Quite well maintianed trails with ample parking for November. A little snow today made for a Winter Wonderland effect in the forest sections.

Great hike! Did this on a sunny and warm day in early September - was very hot and almost not wind. Sweating buckets even in the shade. The trail is very well marked and easy to follow. Not too many people, some dogs on leash, great views at the top of the loop (mostly in forest otherwise). I feel it was more likely four hours of movement time. Lots of ups and downs, many are quite rocky so poles are a good idea.
